Challangers 5-14-2011 Overnite Trip

Another great day of fishing out of Ventura Sportfishing on the Pacific Dawn with  Capt. Pat and Nolan Wong and the Challengers fishing club, It started out slow at first due to high wind and surf, Pat was able to get the boat turned to do a drift in like 300 ft of water where we were able to pick up a few nice quality rockfish to get it started, we moved around a little and  got situated over a nice rock that was loaded with reds and chuckle heads, thats when the real killing started, everyone on board was hauling them in two at a time, we had the bags filled by 11:00am . Pat decided to go around to the front side of Santa Rosa Island to try for sheephead or halibut where I was able to hook into a 12.8 pound monster sheephead that took jackpot hands down. Overall it turned out to be a very nice day with a bunch of very nice guys that it was pleasure to share the rail with, I look forward to hanging out with the Challengers Club and the crew of the Pacific Dawn again, Go get um and Gimme what I came for…..Jaywan SocalFishkillaz
