Fishing is never this rough, But Mike was able to pull one out while everyone else just struggled. Our day got startedĀ early 3am early. we headed out to the west end of Santa Cruz Island looking for the Seabass, what we found was every boat in the fleet already parked there. We were able to jig for a few live squid to get the morning started. There were baits being soaked all around the boat but no bites. Mike pinned on a lively one that he got from Patrick dropped it down and got slammed, It was nice to watch Mike handle that fish and also watch the deckhand as he paniced and cut lines. I took all of 15 min to land the fish and put/keepĀ Mike at the top of the SoCalFishKillaz leader board with his first white seabass…The chase is on.
