The day started out good, not to rough getting across the channel to the Santa Cruz Islands. The trip took about 3 hours to get to the gap and the weather conditions were far from perfect and at times got kind of rough but we were still able to get into a nice bite and put some fish in the bags. Shawn, the Aloha Spirit Captain, did all that he could to get us over to a consistent bite but it was tough. We still had a blast. The ride over gave us all a chace to get to know the folks we would be fishing with. The Big Dog’s Fishing Crew is a class act and a pleassure to share the rail with.
All of the SoCal Fish Killaz had a ball fishing againt the Big Dog’s, Blanche (MzBee56) put the would to all of us like it was the thing to do. Paul (Big Dog’s) also put it down dragging up a lingcod for jackpot and a chucklehead for the homeboy jackpot. All the Big Dog’s were putting fish on the boat at every drop but Carl (SoCal Fish Killaz) was killin fish on a regular basis and ended the day with a fat ass sack. Pat, Mike and Dana all had a nice sack of fish also to take home. Overall it was a good trip and I look forward to hanging out with the Big Dog’s again.
